Chandigarh, May 31 (UNI) In order to further strengthen the transmission and distribution network in Kurukshetra district, the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) have jointly initiated various developmental works to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 100 crore.

A Nigam spokesman said that a 220 KV sub-station at Salempur and a 66 KV sub-station Lohara would be set up and existing capacity of 33KV substations at Mathana and Kirmich would be upgraded to 66 KV and 132 KV level respectively.

He said that Power Utilities had also approved the augmentation of 132 KV sub-station at Malikpur and 66 KV sub-station at Gangori, where power transformers of 16 MVA capacity each would be installed.

The energisation of new sub-stations and augmentation of existing sub-stations would give way to transmission and supply of power from the upcoming Yamunanagar Thermal Power Plant during the current financial year.
