Heavy rains forecast in Kerala, Lakshadweep
Pune, May 31 (UNI) Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Kerala and Lakshadweep.
Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at a few places in south interior Karnataka.
Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and north interior Karnataka.
Mainly dry weather will prevail over Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of Bihar and at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
In the regions where the Southwest Monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in Assam and Meghalaya and in some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, coastal Andhra Pradesh and coastal Tamil Nadu. They were above normal in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, coastal Orissa, some parts of coastal Saurashtra, and in remaining parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and Bihar.
Day temperatures were appreciably below normal in some parts of Haryana, east Rajasthan and south Madhya Maharashtra, and were below normal in west Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and in some parts of west Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. They were normal over the rest of the country.
Heavy to very heavy rains have occurred at most places in Kerala.
