Do not save corrupt officer: Minister
Hyderabad, May 31 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Rural Development Minister G Chinna Reddy today asked the officials to ensure that every rupee spent by the government reached the people.
Addressing the officials at a review meeting of the Directors of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) and District Water Management Authority (DWMA) of Nizamabad, Adilabad, Karimnagar, Khammam and Warangal districts here, he said nobody in the government, including himself and senior officers should rescue a corrupt officer.
The Rajasekhara Reddy government in the state had performed extremely well and brought about a sea change in the lives of farmers, weaker sections, women and minorities. The momentum should be further speeded up during the next two years before the state went to polls in 2009, the newly-inducted minister said.
He asked the officials to effectively implement the National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme (NREGP) and watershed programmes to bring about a change in the lives of rural people.
