Dedicate yourself towards building resurgent India: Shekhawat

Kolkata, May 31 (UNI) Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat today called upon the people to dedicate themselves towards building a resurgent nation where peace, prosperity and harmony would prevail.

Speaking at a programme organised to commemorate the 150th anniversary of India's First War of Independence, Mr Shekhawat said, ''When we are celebrating the 150th anniversary of our First War of Independence, let us resolve to build a social order of equity and partnership to provide governance based on ethos and ethical and shared value system.

"We need a better environment of governance that provides efficient, hassle free and corruption free delivery of services and goods. We need to empower people to take advantage of the opportunities and enable them to meet the global challanges," Mr Shekhawat said.

''India has a huge pool of bright and young manpower who are dedicated to the cause of social, economic and political development.

They are our unique strength,'' he said.
