Copper, tin, nickel rise on good industrial demand
Mumbai, May 31 (UNI) Copper, tin and nickel rose on good industrial demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.
In the ferrous section, copper heavy and brass cutting hiked by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on better buying support.
But aluminium utensils fell by Rs 100 per quintal on poor demand.
In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bar and lead ingots went up by Rs 200 and Rs 50 per quintal respectively on reduced stock supply.
Tin slab and Nickel cathode also hiked by Rs five and Rs 20 per kg respectively due to increase of demand.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 35,300, Copper utensils - Rs 31,500, Brass utensils - Rs 25,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,000 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,900.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,800, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,150, Zinc slabs - Rs 19,200, Lead ingots - Rs 10,000, Tin slab - Rs 720 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,260 (per kg).
