Centre to spend Rs 25,000 cr on agri output
Kolhapur, May 31 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Planning M V Rajashekharan today said the Centre will spend Rs 25,000 crore in this financial year on various measures to increase the agricultural productivity.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Rajashekharan said the government is preparing an agriculture plan taking into consideration changes in weather condition and situation in the country to boost products.
The government expects additional hike in paddy products by ten million tonnes and 8 million tonnes in wheat, the Minister said.
The Union government has also given a priority to health. For this, it proposes to spend about Rs 1.20 lakh crore.
