AP: Brahmotsavam at Govindarajaswamy temple ends

Tirupati, May 31: The nine-day annual Brahmotsavam at Lord Govindarajaswamyvaru temple in Tirupati concluded with 'chakrasnanam' (bathing of sudarsana chakram of the Lord in the sacred temple tank) today morning.

Earlier, in the day, the deity of Lord Govindarajaswamy, along with his consort, were taken in a procession to the temple of Kapilathreetham, on the bank of Pushkarani (temple tank), where the chief priest performed the 'Abishegam' to the idols amidst chanting vedic hymns.

Later, the 'sudarsana chakram' was given holy dip in the waters of the Pushkrani, while hundreds of devotees too performed a holy dip chanting 'Govinda nama'.

Late in the evening, dwaja avarohanam (lowering the temple flag) would be performed, marking the conclusion of the nine-day fete.
