BJP workers protest against govt 'inaction'
Aurangabad, May 31 (UNI) A large number of BJP workers today held a dharna in front of the Tehsildar's office as part of their protest against the 'inaction' of the Maharashtra government on the demands of sugarcane growers.
The Mayor Dr Bhagwat Karad was among the agitators, who also gheroed the tehsil office. All of them were arrested by police.
They were protesting as part of the BJP's ongoing agitation demanding a survey of the uncrushed sugarcane remaining in the taluka and compensation of Rs 40,000 per hectare for sugarcane growers.
The agitators were taken to the City Chowk police station and later released.
