Bengal alert over small pox report in Bangladesh

Kolkata, May 31 (UNI) The West Bengal Government has alerted the districts close to Bangladesh border following reported incidence of small pox in the neighbouring country.

''We have alerted the Border Security Force(BSF) and the authorities of border districts against the incidence of small pox at Rajshahi in North Bangladesh,'' Chief Secretary Amit Kiran Deb told UNI.

The Chief Secretary said, the reports of small pox in Bangladesh had reached in West Bengal ''via mouth'' and the state Government was expecting communication from the Centre for its confirmation.
