Attempt to picket assembly creates tension

Puducherry, May 31 (UNI) Tension prevailed when a group of persons from Karuvadikuppam, near here attempted to picket the Legislative assembly today.

According to police, Muthu hailing from Karuvadikuppam was admitted to the Government General hospital for headache treatment.

Last night, he developed severe pain and started screeming following which a hospital attendent allegedly threatened to kill him.

After Muthu informed his relatives about the incident this morning, they squatted in front of the main gate of the assembly.

Police intervened and held talks with them. Later, they lodged a complaint narrating the incident with Health Minister E Valsaraj and dispersed.
