Appellate tribunal rejects MSEDCL demand on SLC
Mumbai, May 31 (UNI) The appellate tribunal, New Delhi, has rejected the demand of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited to recover service line charges (SLC) from the consumers.
According to sources, MSEDCL had approached Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission demanding the recovery of SLC from consumers but MERC had rejected the demand vide an order passed on September 8, 2006.
Later, MSEDCL approached the appellate tribunal against this order. However rejecting their demand the tribunal has observed that SLC are allowed to be recovered through tariff and the separate recovery of SLC would amount to double recovery.
