Guwahati, May 31(UNI) The anti ULFA protests by the ordinary citizens continued to grow in Asom as the effigies of ULFA Chairman Aurobindo Rajkhowa and Commander-In-Chief Paresh Barua were burnt in Guwahati city today.
Today's demonstration was organized by the Asom Public Works, a voluntary organization, which has been exposing misdeed of the outift constantly.
Asom Public Works president Abhijeet Sharma said that time has come for all the peace loving people of Asom to unite against the anti-people forces.
The movement against the outlaws also received support as people from all walks of life like traders and commoners joined the protest. As the anti terror sentiment was growing, the ULFA was also trying to dissociate itself from the recent violence.
"Whenever there is major public protest, the ULFA always try to disassociate itself from the violence. This is an old practice. Even its over ground organizations, which under the human rights violation cloak and always championed the cause of the oppressed, are now in hibernation" Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today said at a public meeting.
Similar protest meetings against ULFA were also being held across the state.
