Anti ULFA protest continues in Asom
Guwahati, May 31 (UNI) Anti ULFA protests continued here today with people burning the effigies of ULFA Chairman Aurobindo Rajkhowa and Commander-In-Chief Paresh Barua.
Today's demonstration was organised by the Asom Public Works, a voluntary organisation, which has been exposing the 'misdeeds' of the outift regularly.
Asom Public Works president Abhijeet Sharma said the time had come for all the peace loving people of Asom to unite against the ''anti-people forces.'' The movement against the ultras also received support as people from all walks of life joined the protest. As the anti terror sentiment was growing, the ULFA was also trying to dissociate itself from the recent violence.
''Whenever there is major public protest, the ULFA always tries to dissociate itself from the violence. This is an old practice,'' Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today said at a public meeting.
Similar protest meetings against ULFA were also being held across the state.
