Amit Jogi acquitted in Ramavtar Jaggi murder case
Raipur, May 31 (UNI) A sessions court today acquitted Amit Jogi, son of former Chhattisgarh chief minister Ajit Jogi, and convicted 24 others in the much-publicised case of murder of Nationalist Congress Party leader Ramavtar Jaggi in June 2003.
The verdict was read out in a jampacked court room here by Additional sessions and special judge (Atrocities) B L Tidke, who also acquitted five accused, against whom the state police had registered cases on a charge of murder of Jaggi on June 4, 2003.
Amit Jogi, who was among the accused in the case registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), was acquitted while 24 others were convicted.
Three police officials, including a City Suiperintendent of police, were among those convicted.
