54 kg poppy husk seized

Jalandhar, May 31 (UNI) Police arrested one person with 54 kg of poppy husk from a check post near Kotli village in the district, last evening.

Shahkot SHO Vimal Kant told UNI here today that drug peddler Kuldeep Singh, a resident of village Shindra, was arrested when he was carrying the poppy husk in two ganny bags on a scooter.

The accused was booked under section 15, 85 of the NDPS Act and further investigation was on, said Mr Kant.
