Srinagar, May 31 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance organisation (VO) today produced challan against two doctors and 26 others in the court of Special Judge Anti corruption court, Kashmir, in an illegal appointment case.

Dr Bashir Ahmed Khan and Dr Naseer Ahmed Malik, then Block Medical Officers, Sallar, Anantnag and 26 others had made illegal appointments against various posts during the year 1996-97 without any competence and without adopting the procedure laid down under rules for such appointments, a VO spokesman said.

A case was registered on September 28,1998 and the organisation took up the investigation during which it was proved that the accused Block Medical Officers had, by misuse of their official positions and for pecuniary benefits, made 26 illegal appointments.
