12 killed, 21 injured in road accident
Barrackpore, May 31 (UNI) Altogether 12 people were killed and 21 injured in three separate road accidents in North 24 Parganas today.
The first accident occured this morning at Panpur under Naihati police station killing five people and injuring 12.
Police said the accident occured when two trucks collided at Kalyani Express Highway, killing four people, including a driver of one of the trucks, on the spot.
The victims were later rushed to Jawaharlal Nehru Hopsital, where an injured, Debdas Mondal, succumbed to his injuries, police said.
The other two accidents that took place on the Kalyani Express highway under Jagaddal police station killed seven people, including a woman, and injured nine others.
