YSR says Centre clears Krishna water supply project

Hyderabad, May 30 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today announced the Centre's clearance for the second phase of the Krishna Drinking Water Supply Project costing Rs 830 crore.

Presiding over the first Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) review meeting at the Secretariat, Dr Reddy said all infrastructure facilities and civic amenities of erstwhile Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) would be made available in the new areas that include the 12 municipalities without tax revision.

The Chief Minister directed the GHMC commissioner and officials to ensure basic civic amenities like drinking water, sanitation including underground drainage and roads be made available in all the without any hike in taxs.

The Deputy Commissioners will have the power to sanction works upto Rs three lakh, Zonal Commissioners Rs 25 lakh, Chief Commissioner Rs three crore, Standing Committee Rs ten crore, General Body of the GHMC Rs 25 crore and obove.

Dr Reddy instructed the officials to complete the work on the flyover from NFCL Junction to Tanishq near Greenlands and ensure its opening by July end.

The deadline for the other flyovers --from Greenlands to Begumpet and at Nalgonda X Road-- was by November end.

The meeting also proposed to locate dump sites surrounding Greater Hyderabad at Malkapur, Chillapur and Dattaipally Villages, an official release here said.
