Woman killed in robbers' attack

Thane, May 30 (UNI) An elderly woman was killed and several others injured when armed robbers attacked inmates of a house at Rai village in Bhayander near here and made away with cash and ornaments worth Rs two lakh.

Police said the robbers armed with weapons attacked the house at around 0300 hours yesterday and severely beat up the inmates.

The woman killed was identified as Yesubai Damodar.

In the attack, at least six other women were seriously injured who have been hospitalised.

Police said the robbers were between the ages of 20 to 25.

Senior police officers have rushed to the spot and a manhunt has been launched for the culprits.
