Union Power Minister visits Sikkim
Gangtok, May 30 (UNI) Union Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde today visited Sikkim to oversee the field work of Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCI) at Pongla and Namthang.
PGCI is setting up transmission lines and stations at Pongla for integrating the hydro power from the state into the national grid.
Mr Shinde and Chief Minister Pawan Chamling discussed several issues regarding the development of the state.
PGCI Chairman R P Singh was also present during the visit.
Later, Mr Shinde left for Siliguri.
