Libya defence contracts within months: Blair

Sirte (Libya), May 30: British companies will sign major defence contracts with Libya within months, British Prime Minister Tony Blair said during a visit to the former pariah state today.

""As part of the defence cooperation, we believe that within the next couple of months there will be significant defence contracts signed too,"" Blair said at a news conference, after BP marked a new era in British-Libyan commercial ties by announcing a giant oil and gas exploration deal.
