Two arrested with 9 kg opium

Jalandhar, May 30 (UNI) Police have arrested two drug smugglers and seized 9 kg of opium from their possession here today.

Police said on prior information, a truck was intercepted at the Gajigulla check post. On search, nine kg of opium worth Rs 4.5 lakh in the international market was recovered from the truck, police said.

The accused identified as Jaswinder Singh of Tarn Taran district and Sushil of Ferozpur were booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psycotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and further investigations were on.
