TN Assembly prorogued

Chennai, May 30 (UNI) The budget session of the Tamil Nadu Assembly was today prorogued by Governor S S Barnala.

The session, which began on March 22, ended on May 14 after Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee delivered a special address to commemorate Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's Golden Jubilee in the Assembly.

An official release here said the Governor, in exercise of the power conferred on him, prorogued the Assembly.
