Tamil Nadu team arrives to assist in Mysore Corpn's operation 'Pig'

Mysore, May 30 (UNI) A team of 30 pig catchers from Tamil Nadu have arrived here to assist the Mysore City Corporation in its massive operation 'Pig'.

The team began operation with full police protection due to possible protest from pig owners.

Despite an assault on a catcher by a pig rearer, the team caught nearly 52 pigs.

Corporation Health Officer Dr T S Nagaraj said that the captured pigs would be released in the Bandipur and Nagarahole forests.

The Corporation took up the major operation as pigs in the city had become a health hazard and had even attacked several people in the recent days.
