SOG Dy SP killed during encounter in Doda

Doda, May 30 (UNI) A Deputy Superintendent of Police (Dy SP) was killed during gun-battle between Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and militants at Bhaderwah in Doda district this evening, sources said here.

Acting on a specific information about the presence of two militants in a house in front of State Bank of India's local branch, SOG started operation at 1900 hrs, sources said.

During the encounter Dy SP of SOG Shaily Singh was killed on the spot, the sources said adding that the encounter was still on.

Further details about encounter are awaited.
