Shah directed to surrender before Metropolitan Court tomorrow
Mumbai, May 30 (UNI) A city court today directed Chandresh Shah, an estate agent charged in an extortion case along with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's sister Haseena Parkar, to surrender before the metropolitan court by tomorrow afternoon.
Shah, along with Haseena Parkar, has been charged with extortion by the Anti Extortion Cell of Mumbai police for his alleged role in a Slum Rehabilitation Authority project dispute case at Wadala in southcentral Mumbai.
After hearing the arguments of both the sides at length, City Civil and Session Court Principal Judge Ashok Bhangale directed Shah to surrender before the Metropolitan Court by tomorrow afternoon and file an application for regular bail.
Vinod Pranlal Avlani, a real estate developer and builder, in a complaint with the crime branch in December last year, had accused eight persons, including Parkar and Sandeep Shukla, of cheating him of Rs 30 lakh after the failure of the SRA project. Shah had served as a mediator between Shukla and Avlani.
