Mumbai: Rupee opens at 40.53/55 per dollar
Mumbai, May 30: The rupee today opened at 40.53/55 per US dollar, slightly down from the previous close of 40.49/50.
It is still hovering around its peak margins.
The inflows remained high in market today, putting pressure upon investors about a possible RBI intervention on domestic unit's gains.
The rupee, after registering an intra-day high of 40.51/52, slipped down to trade low at 40.68/70, traders said.
The home currency is likely to appreciate further in coming weeks on strong capital inflows, dealers added.
