Rainfall at few places

Bangalore, May 30 (UNI) Following is a Summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours here today.

Rainfall occurred at a few places over the State.

Chief rainfall amounts (cm): Mundagod, Haveri, Bharamasagara 4 each; Panchanahalli 3; Panambur, Savanur, Yedwad, Arsikere 2 each; Udupi, Haveri, Chitradurga, Pavgada, Shivani 1 each.

Maximum temperatures fell at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and changed little over North Interior Karnataka. They were below normal at most places being appreciably so at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and were appreciably below normal at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.

Raichur recorded highest maximum temperature of 36.8 degree Celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Friday morning:Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka; at many places over South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at most places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at many places over remaining districts of South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over all the districts of North Interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 24 hours.

Fishermen Warning for Karnataka Coast: Under the influence of onset of Southwest monsoon squally weather with wind speed reaching fifty to sixty kmph likely along off Karnataka coast during next 24 hours.

Local forecast: Partly cloudy. A spell of rain likely towards evening/night. Maximum temperature would be around 31 degrees celsius.
