Shajapur (MP), May 30: In wake of heavy loss of life and property in Rajasthan following Gujjar community's agitation demanding scheduled tribe status, police has been alerted in few districts of Madhya Pradesh bordering Rajasthan, an official spokesman said today.
Police in Ujjain, Mandsaur and Neemuch districts had been put on alert as a precautionary measure though the situation was peaceful, Ujjain range DIG Ajay Sharma said.
At least 14 people were killed in police firing and violence in Dausa and Bundi districts of Rajasthan yesterday as the Gujjar community members resorted to road blockade to press their demand for ST status. Later, army was deployed to control the situation as police were being targetted by the agitators.
