Owner of a Pathology lab arrested

Jaunpur, May 30 (UNI) Police today arrested a pathology owner under charges of procuring blood from professional blood donors here.

Police said Prabhat Ranjan was running the pathology lab near Police Club in Bhandari area under the license of his retired pathologist father Hari Jeevan Maurya.

The lab was frequented by professional blood donors, whose blood was supplied to various nursing homes, Police Superintendent M Ashok Jain said.

In the raid, a commercial blood donor of Bihar Surendra Singh and the land lord Vinod Srivastava were also arrested.

During interrogation, Prabhat confessed that more than 36 professional donors sold blood to his lab.
