Jaipur, May 30 (UNI) Orissa Director General of Police (Home Guards) B B Mohanty has filed a petition before the Rajasthan High Court for quashing an FIR lodged by the police against him for helping his son Bitti Mohanty escape during a parole leave.

The high court is yet to fix a date for hearing the petition and is likely to list it after June 1 next.

Mr Mohanty has given surety for parole leave for his son Bitti Mohanty, a convict in German woman rape case. He was released on a 15-day parole on the surety of his father to meet his ailing mother in November last. He has been absconding since December 4 last.

The police has subsequently lodged an FIR against the surety and had sent a team to Orissa to nab Mr Mohanty.
