Non-ferrous metal prices decline
Mumbai, May 30: Non-ferrous metal prices declined today on lack of fresh industrial demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.
In the ferrous section, copper heavy slashed by Rs 200 per quintal on poor demand.
In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bar and zinc slab drifted lower by Rs 200 each owing to sluggish demand by bulk consumers.
Lead ingot also eased by Rs 50 due to thin buying support.
Tin slab and Nickel cathode fell by Rs 10 per kg each on increase of stock supply from produing centres.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 35,100, Copper utensils - Rs 31,500, Brass utensils - Rs 25,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,900 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 12,000.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,600, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,200, Zinc slabs - Rs 19,200, Lead ingots - Rs 9,950, Tin slab - Rs 715 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,240 (per kg).
