No rains in Kolkata for next two days
Kolkata, May 28 (UNI) A harsh sun and excessive humidity combined to give Kolkatans a scorching day today.
The temperature soared to as high as 38 degrees Celsius, the highest so far this summer.
The Met sources said the minimum temperature was 29 degrees Celsius, slightly more than normal and the maximum was +3.
However, as the day progressed the sky turned cloudy bringing respite to the people from the spell of sweltering heat.
The maximum humidity was 91 per cent and the minimum was 50 per cent.
However, the weathermen have predicted a clear sky for the next two days. They said the monsoon activities have subdued thus there would be no rainfall for the next two days.
However, there might be rainfall in some isolated parts of West Bengal. Orissa, Sikkim and Tripura would receive heavy rains in the next 24 hours.
