Minister rules out possibility of extending loan waiver

Belgaum, May 30 (UNI) Karnataka Minister for Cooperative G T Devegouda, ruling out the possibility of extending the loan waiver, today advised to the farmers to repay the loan and interest by tomorrow to avail the benefit.

Talking to newsmen here, he said that in Belgaum alone 1,62,000 farmers would get a relief of Rs 260 Crore.

In the State over 17 lakh farmers would benefit from the loan waiver if they pay in time.

He said that Chief Minister has made it clear that government would not come with another loan waiver programme.
