Man kills father over petty issue

Chennai, May 30 (UNI) In an act of patricide, a youth killed his father for not giving him money to drink at Rangarajapuram, near Kodambakkam, in the city, last night.

Police said Kumar alias Pavadaikumar, father of two children, had bludgeoned his father Chandrasekar after he denied him cash to buy liquor.

Chandrasekar who sustained head injuries was admitted to the Government Hospital, where he succumbed today.

Police have registered a murder case against Kumar and arrested him. He was later remanded to judicial custody.
