Man gets 10 years RI for raping minor girl

Anand, May 30 (UNI) A local court today sentenced a man to 10 years rigorous imprisonment for raping an minor girl.

Pronoucing the judgement, Additional Sessions Court Judge T P Chaudhary awarded the sentence and slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on the accused failing which he will have to undergo six months imprisonment.

Prakash alias Burio Mohanbhai Marwadi (36) was convicted for raping a seven-year-old girl on March 15 last year. He had also robbed a gold nose-ring from the girl after the crime.

After the incident the accused left the victim near Bhutrada talav. She was later spotted by some shepherds who returned her to her parents.

Burio was arrested by the Anand rural police some time later.
