Madhyamik pass percentage up by ten per cent

Kolkata, May 30(UNI) About 75 per cent of the total 661,042 students, who appeared for this year's Madhyamik examination for class ten, succeeded as results were declared by West Bengal Board of Secondary Education here today.

Announcing this, Board Secretary Ujjal Kumar Basu said altogether 114,687 examinees secured first division and 34,567 of them obtained star marks.

He said the number of students who cleared this year's Madhyamik examination was ten per cent more than last year's.

Mr Basu said marksheets would reach respective schools tomorrow.

The written examinations for Madhyamik were held from February 20 to March five this year.
