'Lookout notice' for IPS officer in fake encounter case
Ahmedabad, May 30 (UNI) The Gujarat CID Team, investigating the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case, has issued a ''Lookout Notice'' for an IPS officer whose role is under the scanner.
The notice was issued last evening after the probing CID team could not trace Dr N K Amin, a deputy superintendent of police in CID, sources told UNI here today.
Dr Amin had previously worked under D G Vanzara, the seniormost IPS officer arrested in the fake encounter case. The team had gone to arrest Dr Amin at his residence but failed to trace him. Other senior officials refused to comment on the issue.
Though Amin was not part of Gujarat's Anti-Terrorist Squad that was involved in the fake encounter as he was with the Crime Branch, CID officials are probing his role based on the statement of one of the arrested policemen who claimed that he was present when Sohrabuddin's wife Kausarbi's body was disposed off a few days after he was killed.
