Lashkar militant killed in Kashmir

Srinagar, May 30: A militant of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) was killed in a joint operation by the security forces in north Kashmir early this morning.

Official sources said Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and 14 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) launhced a joint operation at Bandipora, about 55 km from here in north Kashmir this morning after receiving a tip off that militants were hiding there.

During the operation, an encounter took place in which a LeT militant Suliman alias Hakim was killed. One AK rifle and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militant.
