India to help Ethiopia in SSI sector
New Delhi, May 30 (UNI) India today offered help to Ethiopia to develop its small-scale industries (SSI).
''India's excellent institutional mechanism for the growth of SSI sector could be explored by Ethiopia,'' Small Scale Industries Minister Mahabir Prasad told his Ethiopian counterpart Kassu Ilalla here.
The visiting dignitary said Ethiopia was a free market economy and the small-scale sector was a major employer to the teeming millions like India.
Dr Ilalla also evinced keen interest in the micro industries in India.
Mr Prasad explained the progress and benefit of 'cluster development schemes' taken up in various States, and expressed the hope that the good age-old relationship between the two countries would continue to grow.
