Hafed to launch Desi Wheat

Chandigarh, May 30 (UNI) The Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation (Hafed) will launching 'Desi Wheat' in the packing of 25 kg of jute bag under its own brand name tomorrow.

A Hafed spokesman said that initially it would be made available only at the Hafed's own selected outlets situated at Panchkula, Delhi, Taraori, Faridabad and Gurgaon.

He said 'Desi Wheat' was cleaned, destoned, graded and packed at its own complex at Taraori. It was moderately priced at Rs 17.50 per kg which was inclusive of all taxes, he added.

The newly launched variety of wheat was procured by Hafed through its ongoing programme of Contract Farming in the Gurgaon, Jhajjar and Rewari districts. These districts were traditionally known for growing C-306 variety of Desi Wheat.

Under the Contract Farming programme, Hafed had arranged quality certified seeds, provided advisory services and crop insurance to farmers.

He said that other consumer products of Hafed available in the market were Kachchi Ghani Mustard Oil Agmark Grade-1, Basmati and Non Basmati Rice, Refined Soyabean Oil and Refined Cottonseed Oil.
