Lucknow, May 30 (UNI) Protest by the Gujjar community over police firing in Bundi, Rajasthan today spilled into Uttar Pradesh with community members holding demonstrations in Muzaffarnagar and Meerut.

The Uttar Pradesh government, meanwhile, has despatched three companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) to Rajasthan following a request by that state government. The companies would be deployed in Rajasthan to re-enforce security in the trouble-torn areas.

Yesterday, the state government had sent four PAC companies to Agra to ensure peace in Gujjar dominated areas in the district. Two companies of PAC each have been deployed in Kharagarh and Saiyya police station areas.

Police sources said Gujjar community members held demonstrations in Muzaffarnagar and Meerut districts to protest against the police firing in Bundi which left over 15 dead yesterday.

''The demonstrations were peaceful and did not create any law and order problem,'' said an official.
