Gujjar issue mishandled by Rajasthan govt: ex-AMC mayor

Ahmedabad, May 30 (UNI) The BJP government in Rajasthan has shown ''utter callousness'' in tackling the sudden outburst of Gujjar anger, former mayor of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) Himmatsinh Patel said here today.

The BJP had during the Assembly elections of 2003 promised to include Gurjars in the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category sympathetically, which was not done, Mr Patel said in a release here.

''It is time the Rajasthan government handles the issue with care and sympathy and restores peace'', he added.
