FINO launch smart cards in Dharavi

Mumbai, May 30 (UNI) In a bid to extend advanced banking services to the dwellers of Asia's biggest slum, Financial Information Network and Operations Limited (FINO) backed by Indian Bank, today introduced smart cards in Dharavi.

FINO-Indian Bank combine had issued smart cards in Virudachalam branch in Tamil Nadu, Cuddalore District last week.

Indian bank will provide customers Zero balance accounts in order to carry out transactions on FINO Smart cards.

''There is a vast unattended market in Dharavi, which does not have access to financial services. The project will bring in banking services to the doorstep of each and every individual in Dharavi.'', said Rishi Gupta, Chief financial officer FINO.

FINO is a multi bank promoted company which provides cutting edge smart card based multi application solutions to the unbanked sector in rural areas.
