Fast enters third day

Tuticorin, May 30 (UNI) The hunger strike by Tamil Nadu unit of Samata Party, Nadar Peravai and Hindu Mazdor Kissan Panchayat (HMKP) at Tuticorin has entered the third day today.

Samatha party founder and MP, George Fernandes participated in the fast as Chief Guest. They demanded that the state government should permit toddy shops in Tamil Nadu and thus save the life of 30 lakh people, who were doing palm business.

Mr George Fernandes said he would take the issue to Chief Minister M Karunanidhi tomorrow.
