CPI(M) stages dharna in Vijayawada

Vijayawada, May 30 (UNI) Communist Party of India (Marxist) workers, along with a large number of landless people, staged a dharna before the Sub-Collector's Office on Artiler Mahatma Gandhi Road here today, demanding that the State Goverenment distribute the lands occupied by them as part of their land agitation to the homeless in urban areas.

The CPI(M) had been occupying Government and temple lands since May 16 as part of their land agitation.

Party State Secretariat member Y Venkateswara Rao and party Krishna District Secretary V Umamaheswara Rao also participated in the dharna.

TDP city President G Ramamohan and Urban Secretary Nagu Meera also expressed solidarity with the agitators.
