Kerala: CPI party organ 'Janayugam' to hit on May 31
Thiruvananthapuram, May 30: After a haitus "Janayugam" daily, a party organ of the Communist Party of India (CPI), will hit the stands from tomorrow.
Informing this to reporters here, party state secretary Veliyam Bharghavan, also the Chief Editor of the daily, said apart from the state capital, the daily would be relaunched simultaneously at Kozhikode and Kochi.
Party general secretary A B Bardhan would inaugurate the re-publication of the daily at a function here tomorrow, he said.
After the party came to power in Kerala, it had decided to revive "Janayugam", which stopped publication in 1993.
Various cultural organisations and political leaders, including Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan, leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Oommen Chandy, CPI(M) state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, poet O N V Kurup, filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan and writer critic Sukumar Azhikode would be present on the occasion, he added.
