Cop commits suicide

Chennai, May 30 (UNI) A Head Constable attached to the law and order wing of Triplicane police station, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in ''Cochin House'' police quarters early today.

Police said the cop Jayaraman (32) who went to sleep last night was found hanging from the ceiling fan this morning.

The reason for the cop taking the extreme step was not known.

He was survived by his wife and a five-year-old daughter.

The body was removed to Government hospital for post-mortem.
