CM reviews the progress of 'Arogyasri'

Hyderabad, May 30 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today reviewed the progress of 'Aarogyasri' Community Health Insurance Scheme in the Arogyasri Health Care Trust meeting held in his chambers here.

Talking to newspersons here CEO of the Trust A Babu said, till date 1,212 surgeries had been performed in 58 network hospitals at a cost of Rs 7,11,82,750 at Rs 58,732 per surgery.

As many as 5,377 outpatients were treated and 1,719 patients as inpatients, free-of-cost. Pre-authorisation for surgery at a total cost of Rs 8,52,65,750 at an average strike rate of Rs 59,668 per surgery were given to 1,429 patients.

The district-wise breakup of surgeries was 427 in Anantapur, 458 in Mahabubnagar and 327 in Srikakulam.

Regarding the number of deaths under the scheme Mr Babu said the total number of deaths were 29 constituting a negligible percentage of 2.39 per cent.

The package for renal transplant had been revised to Rs 2 lakh with retrospective effect, including one year post transplant immunosupressive therapy. Clearance was given for the construction of a building for the Trust in Jubilee Hills, an official release said.
