Shimla, May 30 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today accused the BJP of levelling personal corruption charges against its political opponents to achieve their motives.

Addressing election meetings at Una and Santokhgarh assembly segments, he said the BJP has always in the habit of playing with the sentiments of the people and dividing them in the name of region, caste and religion.

Without naming the BJP, Mr Singh said parties spreading regionalism and casteism were not the well wishers of the people, who need to remain vigilant against the such forces.

The BJP leaders have been involved in corrupt practices and one of its leader was caught on camera accepting money in the infamous ''cash for query scam'', which was seen on various television channels far and wide, he said.

Former Punjab deputy chief minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, who was here to campaign in favour of the Congress candidate, said the Congress has always stood for the rights people besides ensuring uniform development of the state.

Irrigation and Public Health (IPH) Minister Kaul Singh Thakur was also present on the occasion.
